Homemade Newspaper Plant Pots!

I love low-budget ideas like this. For those with more money and less time I highly recommend just buying pots (my dad gets compostable peat pots), but if you have the reverse situation these little pots are perfect. And they're fun to make -- a good project for kids. I've made a bunch of them for potting up seedlings out of plug trays, but you could certainly start seeds in them and plant directly into the ground.

  1. Yeeks, watching her push down hard on that glass made me cringe, waiting for it to shatter in her hand... if you're going to use this method, use something sturdier than a water glass!

  2. I'm impressed, it took less than 3 minutes to make that pot. Thanks for posting this.

  3. Thanks Natalie this is good stuff. I use all of my black and white newspaper to shread for my worm bin, and as I was doing so just this morning I was making note of just how little purely black and white paper our local rag has. The bulk of the pages have colored images on at least on side! We should look into what kind of colored ink the old RTD uses.
