The 17th street market is making a lot of changes. Please check out the link to their site found along the sidebar of this blog, and check out all of the new events planned for the 2009 season. The new manager has changed the days and hours of the market to allow for more after work shopping opportunities. Richmond's oldest and most well known market will now be open on Wednesdays from 3-7 pm with the Grand Opening on Wednesday April 22. That's earth day and I am sure there are some corresponding activities planned. They have also pushed back and extended their Thursday hours to be open from 10am-7pm. Saturdays the market is open 10am -4pm. It looks like they have been able to add some good new vendors in addition to the new hours, so if you'd given up on this old Richmond market this spring looks like a good time to give it another try.
Later in the season, beginning May 29th, the 17th street market will have a weekly Friday evening event from 4-8pm involving Legend Brewing Co.
